Orlando Bloom's big night out

It’s a tough life being Orlando Bloom.

Orlando-bloom After crawling the Mummy Rocks party and Maddox nightclub with Kate Moss, he hit the road on his motorbike and rolled to Mayfair’s Cuckoo club with some gorgeous girls.

Our spy said: “Orlando was surrounded by an army of pretty girls when he hit the dancefloor. He dirty-danced with a brunette and embraced a pretty blonde, before leaving in a taxi with another two ladies at 3.30am.”

And not only did Orlando, who was sat next to Avril Lavigne for much of the night, get girls and glamour – the actor got someone to look after his wheels, too.

Our spy continued: “Orlando’s bike got a parking ticket while he was partying, so security wheeled it into the club for safe keeping overnight.” Lucky him.

Michael Jackson 'stroked' Peaches

Peaches-250

PEACHES Geldof has told  how she was "stroked" by Michael Jackson  while on a trip to Disneyland with her family  aged eight.

Speaking on ITV2 television show Celebrity Juice the 19-year-old daughter of Sir Bob Geldof said she even had “photos to prove it”.

Host Keith Lemon  - aka comic Leigh Francis  -  had asked the party girl, who was standing in for regular team captain Fearne Cotton, if she had ever met the 50-year-old King of Pop.

The student socialite and broadcaster said she met him on while visiting Disneyland 11 years ago.

She said: "I was eight years old. We were all hanging out there, and somehow, for some reason, Michael Jackson was there doing some sort of promotional thing and he invited a load of kids who were staying in the Disney hotel, to come meet him.

"He was in this one room, and we went in and I was really excited and he was sitting on a huge throne at the end of the hall, flanked by Mickey and Goofy.

"The image is burned in my mind of him there, just like 'come closer', and I went and I sat on his lap and then he proceeded to stroke me and whisper in my ear a little bit.

"I've got photos to prove it. I've been stroked by Michael Jackson."

The story shocked guests, including opposing team captain Holly Willoughby, into silence.

Comic Andrew Maxwell came to the rescue, saying: “I don’t think there’s a joke I can make about that!”

Oscars: Film editor Stuart McGurk looks back at the frocks and shocks

In pictures: Who was ravishing and who looked rubbish?

So, on the night, it was all about Slumdog, Slumdog, Slumdog.

Kate It came as a shock to precisely no-one that Slumdog Millionaire bagged both best picture and best director. But even Danny Boyle might not have expected it to dominate so thoroughly - triumphing in eight categories from original script and film editing to sound mixing and cinematography.

In fact, it was an entire awards night that went according to plan - unless, that is, your name was Mickey Rourke.

Having triumphed at both the Baftas and the Golden Globes, Rourke could have expected to be confident, but in the night’s only surprise Sean Penn collected best actor for his role in Milk.

Leaping to the stage to accept his award, Penn jokingly thanked the “commie, homo-loving sons of guns” who had voted for him  - and ended by scotching rumours of a rift with Rourke, insisting: "Mickey Rourke rises again. And he is my brother."

The rest - from Heath Ledger’s never-in-doubt supporting actor to Kate Winslet’s whodathunkit? best actress - was a case of as-you-were.

Heath Ledger’s family (father Kim, mother Sally, sister Kate) accepted his award, dedicating it to Heath's three-year-old daughter - a tear-jerker moment that saw the likes of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie welling up.

"Heath, we both knew what you had created in the Joker was extraordinarily special and had even talked about being here on this very day," said sister Kate. "We really wish you were, but we proudly accept this award on behalf of your beautiful Matilda."

Winslet
, meanwhile, managed to keep her hyperventilating to a minimum, admitting: “I'd be lying if I haven't made a version of this speech before. I think I was probably eight years old and staring into the bathroom mirror and this would have been a shampoo bottle. Well it's not a shampoo bottle now.”
