Kate's tale of two cities

Kate-moss-250 NEVER one to miss a party, Kate Moss hot-footed it over from an Yves Saint Laurent photoshoot in Paris (right) to attend her patron Sir Philip Green’s 57th birthday bash in London.

Wearing one of the outfits from the shoot, Kate came bearing gifts for the Topshop boss.

And billionaire Sir Philip got a second present as a tipsy-looking Kate fell out of her top when she left Annabel’s club in Mayfair at 2am (below).

Sadly for Kate, boyfriend Jamie Hince wasn’t on hand to help her out, as he was performing in Berlin.

Stone Roses set for summer comeback

Stone THE Stone Roses are planning their own “Resurrection” with a UK summer tour, it was claimed today.

At least 21 gigs have been pencilled as the iconic Manchester indie outfit plans to hit the lucrative comeback trail.

The band will also re-release their eponymous first album, which came out in 1989 with hits including I Am the Resurrection and I Wanna Be Adored.

Leader singer Ian Brown, 45, was reportedly the last member to sign up for the concerts, which may also include the Coachella Festival, in California over the weekend after Easter.

Brown was talked into it by bassist Mani and drummer Reni as well as guitarist John Squire who quit the band in 1996 after rows with the frontman.

An insider said: “It’s taken a lot of time and effort to get Ian to agree, but he’s really up for it even though he has a solo career.”

The Stone Roses are the latest in a string of bands to re-form in a bid to re-live their glory days. The Verve headlined the V Festival last year, and Led Zeppelin also wowed fans at the 02, while 70s band The Specials are touring in the summer.

However, rumours that The Smiths would reform despite a bitter dispute between Morrissey and guitarist Johnny Marr have so far come to nothing.

Lady GaGa and 'mindblowing, condomless sex'

Lady-ga-gaLADY GAGA says writing music is like having "mind-blowing, irresponsible, condomless sex".

The 22-year-old American singer/songwriter/musician and DJ said she finds creating hit records a very sexual experience - and compares inventing new tracks to dating different men.

The star, who was nominated for Best Dance Recording at the Grammys, also revealed she would rather spend time in her bedroom than attend a showbiz party.

She told Blender magazine: "In the evening I'll probably stay in and listen to a new song I have recorded. I like to roll around in bed with my songs and figure out what feels good."

"This is going to be the ultimate creative orgasm for me because I'm ready to move on. I'm not restricted to a certain structure for my show anymore. No limitations. I'm free.”

X Factor's Cheryl voted 'best dressed'

Cheryl150

Woman of the moment Cheryl Cole has come out top in Tatler's "best dressed" list of 2009.

The Girls Aloud singer and X Factor judge has become a style icon as her star has soared in the last year.

Tatler said: "The world has gone completely insane for our Cheryl."

Cole has been trekking up Mount Kilimanjaro for Comic Relief - while her husband Ashley was issued with an £80 fixed penalty notice last week for being drunk and disorderly.

The defender has said sorry to police and said he swore out of frustration at paparazzi.

Kate Moss, last year's number two, has not made the top 10 - nor has 2008's number one entry, fellow supermodel Agyness Deyn.

Presenter Alexa Chung, who was at number 10 last year, also failed to make the top 10, compiled by the magazine.

The April issue of Tatler is out on Thursday.

Here is Tatler's top 10 "best dressed" list for 2009:

1. Cheryl Cole

2. Elettra Rossellini

3. Caroline Sieber

4. Georgia May Jagger

5. Marie-Chantal of Greece

6. Alice Dellal

7. Leigh Lezark

8. Natalie Portman

Fashioning a role for Nicola Roberts

Nicola-roberts

WATCH out, Kate Moss – Girls Aloud’s Nicola Roberts wants to follow in your footsteps.

Chatting to theBuzz at the House of Holland show, Nicola admitted: “I’d be honoured if somebody was to ask me to do a range for them – I’d be really flattered.

“I love fashion and I love clothes, but I’d have to learn so much more about the industry before I even considered starting my own range.”

But the 23-year-old, who has her own Dainty Doll make-up collection, went on: “A lot of celebs are too quick to put their name to something they’re not that involved in.

“You shouldn’t run before you can walk, and I couldn’t do something like that unless I could be creative.”

Peaches gets a makeover by penny-pinching grannies

Peaches-geldof-charity-450A GROUP of grannies gave Peaches Geldof a makeover today using clothes found in charity shops where they work.

The blonde socialite, who normally decks herself out in pricey designer gear, was styled on a shoestring by the pensioners and fashion expert Mary Portas.

They chose a vintage, fifties-style red dress for the writer, which had been donated to one of the charity shops Portas has been working with for a new BBC2 TV show.

Portas fronted two series of Mary Queen Of Shops, where she attempted to turn around struggling fashion boutiques, but will focus on charity shops in the forthcoming series.

She has spent the past six months revamping Save the Children, MIND, Barnardo's and North London Hospice, and believes charity shops are the key to dressing during the recession.

Portas said: "I brought my style volunteers up to London Fashion Week to give a message to the fashion world that charity shopping is not just great for the environment and for a good cause. These are places where you can get unique, fashionable outfits that are on trend and look great."

The pensioners also gave charity shop makeovers to supermodel Erin O'Connor, actress Natalie Press and DJ Jodie Harsh at their stall, backstage at London Fashion Week in the Science Museum.

Grace clears the VIP area

Grace-Jones NOBODY plays the diva quite like legendary singer Grace Jones.

theBuzz hears that Jones booted a crowd of fashion-week organisers out of her VIP area in New York this weekend.

Following a surprise appearance on the catwalk for ThisDay’s African Fashion Collective, Jones, 60, adopted some model behaviour...

Our spy said: “She had the entire VIP area cleared for her and her pals.” Yikes! But with Estelle and Solange Knowles close by, we reckon she was just proving she still rules the roost.

Michelle Obama - First Lady of fashion

Michelle-Obama-Vogue A CLASSY Michelle Obama has spoken of her love of fashion after appearing on the cover of Vogue magazine.

Almost every new First Lady to the White House since Lou Hoover in 1929 has appeared in shoots for the magazine - but only Hilary Clinton, and now Michelle – have graced the cover.

Looking stunning in a sleeveless, magenta, high-neck dress she strikes a pose echoing that of Jackie Kennedy from 1961.

Vogue's editor, Anna Wintour, said: "It's inspiring to see our First Lady so serene and secure in her personal style."

Michelle, whose photograph was shot by celebrity snapper, Annie Leibovitz, said: “I love clothes.

“First and foremost, I wear what I love. That’s what women have to focus on – what makes them happy and what makes them feel comfortable and beautiful.”

She added: “If I can have any impact, I want women to feel good about themselves and have fun with fashion.”
