TAKE That star Gary Barlow is in talks to take on Simon Cowell and The X Factor with his own TV pop reality show.
The singer-songwriter has had a meeting with BBC bosses over the idea, which could see him launch a quest to find the next big boy band.
It comes after Barlow set up his own music label, backed by Universal - rivals to Cowell's record label.
According to reports, the show could replace Andrew Lloyd Webber's reality programmes on the BBC, which culminated recently with the quest to find a Nancy for the new blockbuster West End staging of Oliver!
A BBC spokeswoman today confirmed the idea had been mooted but said it was nowhere near being commissioned yet: "They have had one meeting and it's at the very early stages."
