HOLLYWOOD superstar George Clooney proved he was the biggest party animal of all last night as he pitted himself against the capital’s serial clubbers, Girls Aloud.
Battle commenced after Matt Damon and George Clooney unknowingly gate crashed the ladies’ Christmas bash, stopping traffic and causing chaos as they popped into Nobu Berkely for a spot of dinner.
A humble Matt Damon was the first to bow out gracefully, returning to his May Fair Hotel suite at around midnight for an early night with wife Luciana Bozan Barroso.
But while Matt, 38, couldn’t handle the late-night drink feud, he was overheard ensuring that his entourage were well watered.
Our spy said: “When Matt headed upstairs his pals ran to the bar, letting everyone know that he’d agreed to put all their drinks on his tab.”
That sure showed Cheryl Cole, 25, who bailed out at the same time with hubby, Ashley.
And while 27-year-old Sarah Harding and boyfriend Tom Crane can always be relied upon to keep up the party spirit, even they called time at a rather meek 2am, leaving band mates Nicola Roberts – the youngest of the bunch at 23 - and Kimberly Walsh, 27, no option but to head off to bed.
We reckon the girls must have eaten too many mince pies!
So it was George, 47, who put the sprightly young things to shame, hitting Whisky Mist with a crowd of pals and staying on until the early hours.
Our Whisky spy said: “George shunned a VIP table and got involved in banter at the bar – where he queued for his own drinks – lapping up attention from every girl in the club. He was drinking whisky and bought vodka for the models surrounding him. But he stuck beside one particular blonde all night and even threw a few shapes on the dancefloor.”
With that stamina, we reckon she’ll be keeping a firm grip…
