City fan Noel Gallagher riles rivals
THE DIEHARD Manchester City supporter didn’t waste time to rub Man U’s face in it.
Gallagher was so chuffed after Man City was bought by an oil rich company, he announced: "It'll be nice to know that every gallon of petrol a Manchester United fan buys is going into our kitty."
The Abu Dhabi-based company bought out Thaksin Shinawatra, former Prime Minister of Thailand, and the Oasis star very much approves.
The musician was bombarded with text messages during a tour in Canada, which told him to turn on the news.
He said: "I was laughing at first, thinking 'I can't quite believe it', and just before we went on stage I found out we've signed Robinho.
"I can only assume they've offered him a fortune because there is no other reason he'd come to City from Real Madrid - we're not even in the Champions League."
Although the club lost a bidding competition with Manchester United for Tottenham’s Dimitar Berbatov, Gallagher is enjoying the not-so-friendly rivalry.
"I'm pleased we've managed to swindle Man United out of a few bob as they've had to pay over the odds for Berbatov,” said the Mancunian.
Outspoken Gallagher has often criticised moves by his beloved team, but this time he says that 40 years of loyalty have finally paid off.
