As she approached her landmark birthday on Saturday, the Queen of Pop was seen dipping into some the capital’s raunchiest lap-dancing bars.
Madonna, who turned 50 this weekend, was looking for inspiration for some new acrobatic tricks for her latest movie.
Nude dancers at the Secrets clubs in both Swiss Cottage and Hammersmith - where they charge £20 for a dance - were amazed to see the multi-millionaire on a visit to pick up some dance moves.
Staff at the club revealed Madonna dropped in to help her with research and filming for her film Filth and Wisdom.
Set in London, the movie stars Richard E Grant and features a character who is a ballet dancer but works as a stripper and pole-dancer.
A source at Secrets told theBuzz: “It was a low key visit and some of the girls couldn’t believe they had one of the most famous women on the planet in the club.
“They are used to seeing celebrity men but never expected their job would allow them to meet Madonna.

“She spent four odd days and two full days filming at the venues and even roped in one of the crew as an extra in the filming.
“She showed a lot of interest in the various pole dancing tricks and even talked about learning some herself.
“She suggested that she may incorporate some of the moves in her next tour."
On Saturday night Madge celebrated her birthday with a bash for 90 of her friends at Volstead nightclub in the West End, where her husband Guy Ritchie gave a praising speech about his wife.
Fans of Madonna, whose super fit physique is the envy of women half her age, will be excited to learn the star is going to continue to push her raunchy image even though she has reached her half century.
Madonna is the not the first celebrity to turn to lap dancing to keep her in shape – stars Caprice, Kate Moss, Zoe Ball, Sophie Dahl, Yasmin le Bon and Sadie Frost have all turned to sexy dancing in the past.
