NKOTB to do Oxford St gig

Nkotb250 Ultimate 80s boy band New Kids On the Block are heading to the UK for their first European performance in 15 years.

They will appear at HMV's Oxford Street Store on September 8 to perform a set before signing copies of their new album, The Block.

HMV will allow fans to pose questions that will be asked during an interview with the band.

You have to post questions through social discovery site getcloser.com - and they will pick the best ones.

The gig and interview footage will be on the site afterwards for anyone who couldn't make it along to see the show.

Apparently they won't accept marriage proposals...presumptuous much? They're so not as young (or hot) as they used to be!!!

David Duchovny in rehab for sex addiction

Duchovny IT would appear David Duchovny may not have been acting in his role as the sex-obsessed star of US TV show Californication.

In the latest case of reality imitating art, the 48-year-old who plays the promiscuous Hank Moody in the hit series, is being treated for sex addiction.

The actor who is married and has two children with actress Tea Leoni has checked into rehab for the “illness”.

In a short statement released to the US media, Duchovny said: "I have voluntarily entered a facility for the treatment of sex addiction.

"I ask for respect and privacy for my wife and children as we deal with this situation as a family."

The star, who picked up a Golden Globe for his skilful portrayal of single dad and struggling writer Hank Moody, rose to fame as the conspiracy-minded FBI agent Fox Mulder on the 1990s paranormal thriller The X Files.

His career received a re-vamp when Californication hit US and UK screens on Channel Five in 2007.

Boyfriend's penthouse gift to Naomi Campbell

Naomi_campbellNAOMI Campbell hit the jackpot when she landed Russian billionaire Vladimir Doronin this May.

The model, 38, only had to drop a few casual hints as the couple perused the sights of Sao Paulo before Doronin whipped up a cool £9 million for a penthouse apartment.

A source said: "Naomi told Vladimir how much she loved Brazil and that she really wanted to settle down there. So he bought her the apartment.”

The property tycoon’s plush gift will be an exotic new pad for the couple.

Comedian Katy Brand targets royal sisters

Katy_brand PARTYING princesses Beatrice and Eugenie beware - comic Katy Brand has you in her sights.

The comedienne brings back her Big Ass show next week, and in addition to her send-ups of Kate Moss and Sadie Frost, the royals get the treatment this time around.

"We've got Beatrice and Eugenie gambling with their servants and winning all their money," Katy tells theBuzz.

We wonder what Princes William and Harry, who are fans of the show, will make of it?

Prince Harry's boozy night out

Prince_harry PRINCE Harry is obviously intent on making the most of his freedom while it lasts.

The royal was out enjoying a boozy dinner at the Admiral Codrington pub in Chelsea last night with his army mates.

This comes shortly after the news that he has issued a desperate plea to go back to serve on the front line in Afghanistan.

“Harry’s table was packed with beers,” said an onlooker “He and his pals looked like were really getting into the spirit of things."

The onlooker added: “Harry even started singing at one point. It was quite funny to watch.”

At the end of the night Harry went home, while the rest of the gang headed to Whisky Mist.

Kelly Osbourne gets slap happy

Kellyosslap NIGHTS out with Kelly Osbourne are rarely quiet, but things reached a new level last night when she got into a scrap in Punk nightclub.

theBuzz can reveal that the TV presenter and agony aunt slapped a fellow female clubber at the Soho club.

The night started calmly for the normally mild-mannered Kelly, who was on good form when she went to watch her new short film, The Town That Boars Me, with fellow rock-star offspring Nat Weller.

She then hit Punk where she saw pals Nick Grimshaw and Alice Dellal. But things turned ugly when Kelly started shouting at the fellow reveller, who was sitting at a table with friends.

“She was shouting about her boyfriend, Luke Worrell,” an onlooker tells theBuzz.

She was joined at the launch at 522 Oxford Street by fellow models Amy Diamond and Rosie Jones to show off the store’s new ‘Hotel’ collection.

Review: The Pretender Agenda

Leeryan_2 The Pretender Agenda

**

Who: Lee Ryan, Lucy Benjamin
Where: New Players Theatre, WC2
When: To 27 Sep, 020 7478 0135

BLUE boybander Lee Ryan makes his stage debut in this tale of six thirtysomethings whose lives change irrevocably over the course of one evening's scandalous revelations.

Its writer and director Christopher Manoe says his play is a "brilliantly disastrous office party... with the same dark subtlety as Abigail's Party".

It isn't.

Shallow characters, one-dimensional acting and a plot lacking any moral compass keep this production miles from comparison to Mike Leigh's cult classic.

Ryan is Stuart, a laid-back office junior, joker and Essex boy, who spends most of the play letting the evening's events wash over him , more interested in flirting with office nice girl, Mel, played by ex-EastEnder Lucy Benjamin.

Though both are on stage throughout, this pair are entrusted with a limited number of lines - one of Manoe's wiser decisions.

While they've clearly built a good rapport, their performances are vocally and physically under projected - Ryan especially mumbling his way through.

Praise to co-stars Emily Aston as brashly interfering PA Kate and Ben Jones as the self-assured, gay Piers. But a decision has been made here to fill a theatre on the back of celebrity - and at what cost?
