Amy Winehouse is out of hospital and as "right as rain", her dad Mitch said today.
Speaking to thelondonpaper from her bedside at hospital, after she was rushed there last night, he said: "Amy's responded well to treatment."
The Back To Black star was taken to A&E after suffering a bad reaction to medication designed to help her stop taking drugs. She was discharged late on Tuesday morning.
An ambulance was called to the emphysema-stricken singer’s house in Camden, north London, at 8.40pm last night and she was taken to University College Hospital.
Police were stationed outside her house as the 24-year-old was brought out in a wheelchair while wrapped in a blanket and given oxygen.
Worried dad Mitch told thelondonpaper: "The doctors say it was an adverse reaction to prescription drugs or mixing them up. They are not sure exactly what happened and they have done tests on her. We are waiting for the results of the toxicology report later today.
"I must admit, it was very frightening last night, seeing her in that state.
"But she is with good friends, not hangers-on. She just wants to go home."
"She's still got her appetite, at least. I took her about 20 pieces of KFC chicken. But did she offer me any? No."
Mitch entered the hospital at around 11.50pm and asked reporters and photographers to leave the family alone.
The singer's spokesman, Chris Goodman, said: "Amy Winehouse suffered a reaction to medication at home this evening and was taken to hospital.”
He said she had fainted on a previous occasion because of side effects of anti-drug treatment and expected her to recover from this latest episode.
The singer has publicly battled with health problems in recent months, with her husband Blake Fielder-Civil's imprisonment causing obvious stress.
She was caught on video in January apparently smoking crack cocaine in footage obtained by The Sun newspaper.
She spent a stint in rehab before emerging for a well-received performance at the Grammy Awards in February, where she took home five gongs.
Then in June, her performances at Glastonbury and the Nelson Mandela 90th birthday concert were thrown into doubt when she collapsed at her home and had to undergo hospital tests.
Mitch has compared watching his daughter's health deteriorate to the last days of his 78-year-old mother, former jazz singer Cynthia, as she fought for breath while dying from lung cancer.
"The doctors have told her if she goes back to smoking drugs, it won't just ruin her voice, but it will kill her," he said.
Mitch is the one that needs rehab - how can he stand by and watch his daughter wreck her body and her life expectancy and still wear a smile on his face. He said just last month he was afraid she would die. Well what the hell is he doing about it. Lock him up, get her on a plane and take her to rehab far far away - like the meadows in arizona - where none of her junkie mates hang out...

Is anyone else sick of reading about Amy Winehouse killing herself? I am a big fan of her music but am sick of the attention. Last night when she was taken ill 2 police cars blocked off either end of her street to avoid people getting to the house. Surely these police officers should have been dealing with more worth while causes like street crime?? I really am a big fan of her music and believe that if anything ever did happen to her it would be a big loss to the music industry - but i am sick off the attention from police etc a celebrity gets when they are clearly off the rails! This attention should be used on better causes.
