Croaky Amy entertains 90,000

Troubled singer Amy Winehouse last night played her first live date since leaving rehab.

She entertained 90,000 fans at the Rock in Rio concert in Portugal and by all accounts received a warm welcome.Amy

Despite arriving on stage an hour late and apologising for a sore throat she played a full set, while apologising to the crowd for sounding croaky.

She said: "I should have cancelled but wanted to be here so much."

A spokesman said she was 'overwhelmed' by the crowd's support.

Let's just hope that was all she was overwhelmed by.

Coldplay ticket frenzy

About 60,000 tickets to three Coldplay gigs at the O2 Arena sold out in an hour!

The band will play 10 dates in the UK in December. Their album Viva La Vida is due out on 12 June.

The rush came despite singer Chris Martin telling Q magazine: "After the last record I felt like God. I can't believe we've got away with becoming a huge band."

Three things to do tonight...

Ok so it's a pretty decent day, warm enough for a pint of Magners and a burnt sausage or three. But just in case your local pub is a dive and you don't own a BBQ, here's something else you could do:

1) Go and see the amazing Gina Yashere, back in the big smoke after a stint in the States. She's showcasing her new show 'Skinny Bitch' and is a comic superstar waiting to happen.

UCL Bloomsbury theatre WC1 020 7388 8822 7.30pm £16.60

2) South London's best music venue in the world ever, The Windmill in Brixton, hosts 'Gracetonbury', nine hours of punk-rock, indie-pop, glam and just downright fantastic music. All for a fiver. And there's a BBQ. Headliner is Keith TOTPs who gathers together seven guitarists from other bands to join him on stage. Heaven.

Windmill Brixton, Blenheim Gardens, Brixton, doors 5pm, £5

3) Go get some Cuban vibes at Havana Rakatan at the Peacock Theatre. Two hours of rumba, cha-cha and enviable abs make this a hip-swaying spectacular.

The Peacock Theatre, Portugal Street, WC2 doors 7.30pm tickets from £15 www.sadlerswells.com

Britney's sofa snub

She may be on the mend (dear lord please let her be on the mend) but Britney Spears's sideline career as a furniture designer has been put on hold.

Weird.Britney

The singer had been due to endorse a range of scandinavian furniture by Danish entrepreneur Claus Hjelmbak but her father Jamie has pulled the plug.

The reason? He thinks she's being used for publicity.

I'll let you have a little think about that one.

No entry for Rihanna

If you thought being a celeb meant you  could get into any club you wanted despite being Laaaaatantly underage then think again.

Rihanna, 20, and her lovey-dovey companion Chris Brown, 19, were apparently forced to abandon plans to head to trendy Chicago club Underground because it was way past their bedtime.Rihanna

The songstress had been performing in the windy city with Kanye West. Eventually she and her beau Brown made it to Lotus where she danced the night away in skin tight leather hot pants.

At her age?! Hope she sipped a lime and soda.

Rhys Ifans to join Super Furry's

Looks like Sienna Miller's squeeze is not just talent but uber-talented.

Scruffy welshman Rhys Ifans has teamed up with one of his old mates from the Super Furry Animals forming a new band called The Peth.

Rhys used to play with SFA before they hit the big time and is set to his the road with his new gang in September complete with an album to promote.

Angelina's twin girls?

Conflicting reports are circulating about Brangelina's new arrivals. Has she or hasn't she given birth?

Rumours are suggesting that Hollywood parents Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie welcomed two little baby girls into their home on Sunday (well done for keeping that quiet chaps.)

Sources say the latest additions to their family were born in a Catholic clinic in Aix-en-Provence, France and they have been named Isla Marcheline and Amelie Jane in honour of their grandmothers.

See the weekend in with Jack the Ripper

Jack Jack The Ripper at Museum In Docklands
DLR: East India Quay
£7/£5

I know, I know - it's May, serial killer season is so over. But the new Jack The Ripper exhibit at the Museum of Docklands is easily the best exhibition I've been to all year - and we haven't even got to the mouthwatering food menu yet. Victorian-themed food? That's where it's at.

You'll kick yourself if you miss this...

Ronson riled by 007 title

Mark There’s so much confusion surrounding the soundtrack of the new Bond movie it’ll be a miracle if it is ever recorded.

First Amy Winehouse and super-producer Mark Ronson were working on the track – before the collaboration collapsed amid claim and counter-claim.

Then we heard Supergrass were trying to muscle in on the gig, while theBuzz revealed Beyoncé was in talks to record the track.

But, after all these months, it turns out the problem is not Wino’s drug habit or anyone’s song-writing talents. It’s the movie’s ridiculous title – Quantum of Solace. Supergrass’s Danny Goffey said: “I was talking to Mark about it the other day. He said it was impossible to get that title into a song.”

But the band’s lead singer Gaz Coombes has the answer: “Supergrass are more than capable of a Bond theme song. You’d just have to do a normal song and then stop and somebody screams: ‘Quantum of Solaaaaaace’.”

Okaaay...

Kate at the art of the party

Never let art get in the way of a good party, Kate!

London’s art world witnessed one of its hottest openings last night – the launch of Jake and Dinos Chapman’s flash £2m exhibition at White Cube in Mayfair.

But what did Kate Moss and her Primrose Hill pals do? Made their priority the roof-top party.
Kate spent less than five minutes at the lower ground-floor installations F**king Hell and If Hitler Had Been a Hippy How Happy Would We Be before taking the lift to the rooftop terrace.
