Madonna has confessed she will never be a “yummy mummy” despite protests from her daughter about her dress sense.
The Queen of Pop may be worth millions, and boasts a wardrobe to match her bank balance, but that does not stop her shunning chic for a more casual look.
Madonna, who turns 50 this summer, has admitted her baggy jogging bottoms and Lycra tops are a constant source of embarrassment for her 11-year-old daughter Lourdes.
She said: “I’m happy to muck around in a pair of drawstring pants and wellies. But my daughter gets angry because I go to school wearing my tracksuit.”
“She says, “Can't you just wear normal clothes?”. I think she wants me to be a yummy mummy but that’s not me. Guy will sometimes laugh at what I wear too."
The singer was photographed yesterday sporting exactly the look that makes her daughter cringe.
She was spotted taking friend and actress Gwyneth Paltrow on a visit to her £6 million personal gym, just 20 yards from her front door in London’s Marylebone Square.
Paltrow, who has just returned from a trip to New York, will have had her work cut out keeping up with the health fanatic pop star whose fitness regime can mean training for up to three hours a day.
But after revealing how hard it is to pin down the Material Girl, a workout may be the only way the actress can be fitted into her busy timetable.
In an interview with Glamour magazine, the 35-year-old confessed that Madonna’s schedule is so tight, even her close friendships have to be planned out.
The Sylvia star told Glamour magazine: “I don’t see her that much. She schedules herself. She’s always busy. We do have dinners, we hang out, but my other friends are more spontaneous.”
