Answer Me This! How will this podcast change my life?
I've had my entire world stored on my iPod for the last eight months since I stopped having a computer at home, but my lustrously impractical (and red!) new laptop has not only meant I can change my damned music, but start downloading podcasts again.
The one that's been stealing my every commuting hour however is the Answer Me This podcast from comedians Helen Zaltzman and Olly Mann.
If you ever went to Robin Ince's Book Club, chances are you've played
Boggle against Helen and Josie Long on their phenomenally oversized and
handcrafted set.

Prime examples of classically silly, sarcastic humour lovingly encased in pedantry and love of biscuits, they answer listener questions on everything from Keith Chegwin to crying and the dearth of Pretzel Flipz with plenty of meandering in between. I love a good Flip too and you could get them in Cybercandy in Covent Garden last time I looked. Mmm.
It's sharply produced by the dour yet strangely loveable Martin the Sound Man, and beautifully, ridiculously funny. I keep on having to temper the urge to burst out laughing, which generally means I end up grimacing at people like a merrily unaware imbecile on day release.
Want music instead? More after the jump.
For fans of good music and French, weekly music bible Les Inrockuptibles does arguably the
best music podcast around, English or not. If you can't speak French, don't worry: I've
got a degree in it and four years on can hardly get one word in four
from the muso-babble, just trust me that Les Inrocks has the best mix of modern
electro, folk and indie around.
Plus, being shallow, the more pretentious English band titles sound utterly hilarious when spoken in a genuinely French accent.
