Podcast: Afternoon comedy with Pegabovine
God knows how seeing as I work on the internet all day, but I haven't had a computer at home for nearly seven months. My life basically exists only as flotsam stored as iPod data, which is so far beyond lame it's untrue.
This has meant I've been missing out on podcasts, and particularly missing the occasional bits of absolute gorgeous genius that come out of people other than Radio 4. This afternoon's example is the comedy troupe Pegabovine who, as well as running shows in London, keep on going up to Edinburgh and getting five star reviews with almost tedious regularity
Pegabovine have indeed been on Radio 4, but rather than going there I'd recommend you plug in some headphones and choose the least mentally challenging bit of work you can do for half an hour so you can both look studious and chuckle along to their new podcast, featuring as it does visits from people who are making more underground noise than a flatulent Tube.
These infinitely more pleasing sounds include the excellent duo Girl and Dean, music and poetry respectively from Davis Wateracre and Luke Kennard (the amusing and good kind, as opposed to the hit yourself on the back of the head with a rusty hammer kind) and less ridiculous, but prettier music from Like A Thief's Holly Jazz Lowe.
It also contains The Joke. This might well be the world's best joke. Seriously. End of the show, nearly made my lungs burn out laughing. For God's sake don't listen while operating heavy machinery or tea.
