I spend way too much time watching TV shows on youtube - Gossip Girl, America's Next Top Model, whatever, and now The Spice Girls documentary. If you have a spare 40 mins, watch it. They come off really well as it goes, candid and funny.
Part 1: Charts their beginnings as stage school kids, (Geri: "I'm so ambitious... I just want my ego fed), and includes audition tapes, plus the loud mouth power struggle between Geri and Mel B
Part 2: "We were really normal girls who after a couple of hours in hair and make up brushed up well," explains Victoria Beckham of their appeal. Plus their appearence on the Brit's wth Geri causing a storm with her Union Jack dress.
Part 3: Geri on the emergence of her topless pics and Mel B admitting she was mad about them because they were worried it would effect their fanbase. They also talk about meeting Prince Charles and Nelson Mandela.
"I've never laughed so much; I've never cried so much," Posh. At one point Geri actually fights back tears when talking about the conflicts within the band.
"There are times when Melanie was very mean to me," admits Mel C.
Part 4, 5, 6 and 7 after the cut...
Part 5: On eating disorders, the year they didn't have one day off and why they sacked their manager Simon Fuller. Oh, and that little piece of history: when Geri left the band. It seems she felt burnt out and redundant.
Part 6: On the last Spice Girls album, the band's demise and the reunion.
Part: 7
