Missives from NYC

One of our intrepid bloggers in living is up in NYC... here's what she has been spotting.

Just when New Yorkers were declaring the Meatpacking District (the club-ridden area around 14th street and the West Side) DOA, a breath of fresh, avant garde air was breathed into it.

It took the form of a party thrown by Sex and the City stylist Patricia Field at CieloRichie nightclub. The party was to benefit the Harvey Milk High School, a school dedicated to creating a safe environment for gay, lesbian and transgender youngsters located in Manhattan's Lower East Side.

The queer kiddies were out in force, throwing shapes on the dance floor with one half of Heatherette designer duo Richie Rich [left], his flaxen do topped with a white fuzzy newsboy cap.

Drag royalty was Ruout in force to see the star of the evening, none other than RuPaul herself. The glamazon, despite getting up there in years, cut a figure to make Jessica Rabbit jealous.

Her flamingo pink spangled romper hugged her curves like a roadster and her platinum fro was at least 3 feet across.

Flanked by two Prada suited hunks she catwalked across the club, towering head and shoulders above the crowd including one 5 foot portly fan who nearly dropped to her knees in adulation.

Ru just shoved her to the side and kept on strutting.
