Michael Jackson speaks

Last time I mentioned MJ was when he wrote his fans this little note back on October 9,2007. Now, Mj for the first time in a decade Michael Jackson has granted Ebony magazine an interview! It's also his first chat to the press since his 2005 trial and acquittal.

So what did he have to say for himself.

We learn:

1. MJ doesn't like to swear. When he thought a song was shitty he used to say "smelly" instead. Quincy Jones and Steven Spielberg call him "Smelly."

2. "The key to being a wonderful writer is not to write. You just get out the way. Leave room for God to walk in... when I write something I know is right, I get on my knees and say thank you. Thank you, Jehovah!"*

MJ reckons he's had this feeling recently while writing for his new album.

"When you know it's right, sometimes you feel like something's coming, a gestation almost like a pregnancy". Or wind, perhaps.

*Which is conicidentally what I do everytime I nail an interview.

Most of the interview is about basslines it seems. B-O-R-I-N-G!

After the cut a brief video showing MJ's photoshoot. Looks normal enough I guess, but the final pics show MJ so airbrushed he looks like a SIMS character.
