New York played host to the 4th annual Fashion Rocks concert last night which saw an ecclectic mix of fashion and music royalty celebrate a collaboration of music and catwalk. Entourage actor Jeremy Piven played host to a crowd of style insiders at Radio City Music Hall.
Mischa Barton, Ashlee Simpson and Avril Lavinge were among the stars entertained by a string of unlikely duets. Fergie from The Black Eyed Peas sang with Aerosmith’s Steve Tyler, Teri Hatcher shared the stage with 50 Cent to introduce Jennifer Lopez while Mary J Blige, Jennifer Hudson and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine sang solo.
Mischa Barton tried to pull off the fetish look in a silver stud and chain dress. She failed. Yes the look has origins in cheap n’ nasty hooker gear but wearing a dress which looks so cheap it might catch fire is not what the designers had in mind. And doesn’t that dark hair make her look eerily like Cameron Diaz?
Unfortunately for Mischa, Jessica Alba pulled off the same look and won. Her chain link detail dress was stunning and showed off her figure beautifully.
Ashlee S turned up looking super slim in a body-conscious black dress but her Jessification is getting out of control.
What with the nose-job, the lip plump and the bleach, she’s now looking better than her sister was in her heyday. Jess must be sick.
Miserable grump Avril Lavinge refused to give us a smile on the red carpet. Why show up?
Nicole Richie has re-entered my fashion conscious as the hottest dresser du jour. She is blooming and her black and white printed halter was the highlight dress of the night.
Carmen Electra’s face looked distorted (see image below). What’s up with it?
Is that fixed glare the effects of botulism? And Fergie would be wise to stear clear of the botox for a while too.
London will host its own version of the Fashion Rocks concert on 18th October.
The event, which will be held at the Royal Albert Hall, will see Samuel L. Jackson host a spectacular line-up of the world’s biggest names in fashion and music in aid of the Prince’s Trust.
