This weekend marks the beginning of September, not that you'd noticed with this dreadful weather, but don't let that keep you indoors. There are still a plethora of music and cultural festivals, sport and comedy to check out
We can never get enough of the Simpsons. I love it so much I dressed up as Marge Simpson for the premiere. Because it's Friday and we don't much feel like working, why not check out these two Simpsons spoofs.
Here's the Simpsons title sequence with a Star Wars bent.
And here's an oldie but a goodie The Simpsons mashed up with the Star Trek theme on the theremin. All this from a genius jazz musician who lives in Bethnal Green.

There's no doubt that this video was made by hipsters for hipsters, but who cares when it's this funny!
Shot in Brooklyn (although if you take away the sun it might as well be Kingsland Road), this spoof rips the piss out of all the hall marks of cool, urban 20-somethings.
The script is brilliant. Sample: "Of course no self-respecting hipster would ever enter this contest let alone admit to being a hipster in the first place so we're forced to assume that our contestants participationg is strictly ironic."
Witness the five entrants compete in the requisite heats: how bad is your hangover, the MySpace picture session, ironic vintage T-shirt t-off, and how tight are your jeans (if you can fit two fingers in the waist band and you're out!)
Best of all don't miss the fourth event - the Music Collection Bragathon - "where hipsters comb their music collection for bands they discovered who have since sold out by becoming popular (those jerks)", before expelling the offending vinyl from their selection.
